At this special afternoon edition of  Academy Town Square, WHYY’s Sam Briger speaks with three-time James Beard Award-winning Oglala Lakota chef Sean Sherman about his new book Turtle Island: Foods and Traditions of the Indigenous Peoples of North America.  The talk will be followed by an experiential plant walk with ethnobotanist Linda Black Elk in the Garden Club of Philadelphia’s pop-up native plant garden, and food tastings, medicinal tea preparations and more with chefs Luke Black ElkJoe Haber and Drexel Food Labs professor Rachel Sherman.  

Your registration also includes general admission to the museum.
